For the NYLAG project, Spacesmith Architects and Studio Atomic collaborated to create a lighting design that would reflect the values of the New York City civil legal services organization which focuses on combatting economic, racial and social injustice The 27,000 square foot space, spread over two floors in the financial district, was designed with versatility in mind.
The collaboration aimed to create a design that highlighted the firm's core identity, with bright, contemporary meeting rooms and more intimate, comfortable zones for conversation and social interaction. The project features a sculptural origami light ceiling as a central element, underscoring the collaborative vision of the architect and the lighting design team to create a versatile and functional space that emphasizes the firm’s culture and community-oriented mission.
