Casa M
Residential
Brooklyn, NY
Studio Atomic transformed a one-bedroom apartment in a Brooklyn brownstone using natural light as the main design element.
The low-ceilinged attic space was converted into a work loft and connected to the living area below with a built-in bi-level bookcase and desktop overlook. Skylights and relocated windows bring in ample light and create multi-directional views, adding dimension and space to the former conventional layout. The renovation includes an "infinity staircase" that acts as a sculptural centerpiece and enhances verticality, while double doors to bed and bathroom increase the feeling of spaciousness. The bedroom features floor-to-ceiling closets and a functional wall with built-in cabinets, maximizing the use of every inch of the apartment for maximum utility, space, and light.
